Okay, It WAS Hot!

The kids made an American flag to carry on the run. It was breezy and we kept losing stars! Edgar decided he need protection from the sun! We are moving into spring and it is definitely warmer in the daytime. Woof!

Running with the Dogs

Our puppies went for a "marathon" run today after church. Both Casas participated and had a great time. We love ya, Roof Dogs!

We should have had our pretty sofa in the picture! Still, the seminarians enjoyed getting to meet Bishop Doe of the USPG organization.

Construction

The construction at San Lucas has come to a temporary halt. We are half way through the bathrooms, but there isn´t any money, so we are on hold. As you can see, they will be quite nice! Congrats to Padre Juan Carlos who has worked SO hard to get the project to this point!

Bishop Doe

As the bishop was with us several days, we managed to get him to San Lucas, the Casas, and Santiago Apóstol as well.

In the high mountain area it is nothing if not impressive. The llama's owner approached the window (we expected he'd ask for a tip for the picture.) But he asked if we had any coca leaves. That is truely a part of the highland culture. They say it keeps one warm, reduces hunger, helps one stay awake, and increases endurance. Sadly, many are addicted and clouded by its use.

Cabanaconde

A small village, Cabanaconde is an agricultural center growing corn, potatoes, grains, etc. There is almost no opportunity for other kinds of work.

Property

Directy behind the cross is the corner of the property. The plan is to put a multipurpose room or rooms downstairs and then build a church facing the canyon on top. It will be quite a view!

San Felipe Congregations

The San Felipe congregation has several members now. Some of them travel back and forth to Arequipa. It is about a 5 hour drive depending on road conditions. Currently they are using the refectory as their chapel.

Trip to the Canyon

Padre Ron and the Revillas recently took visiting Bishop Michael Doe to visit the work in Cabanaconde. Bishop Doe is with USPG, the same agency that first funded missionary clergy to the United States. San Felipe is lightly circled in red.

Birthday

We all had a great time celebrating Padre Ron´s birthday.
