Monday Night Prayer Group

Last night we had our first Monday night prayer group meeting. It was great fun. We had a good group present. We enjoyed the study and the sharing of prayer needs was good, too. We had 14 present. We'll meet again in two weeks.

Success!!!!

This picture is on the Casas blog as well. I don´t repeat pictures but this is a special event! Tía Nanny was so please when we told her that the kids are using the sewing machine that she brought them. Now Giovanna has completed a project completely on her own. She has made a pair of slacks (with pockets and all!).

Itty Bitties

Of course, we had itty bitties performing, too. Folk dances are really important here in Peru and even the tiniest learn their steps well. It is hard to keep a balance between preparing for special events and academic studies. Some things are the same in all cultures!

More Twinkle Toes

Susana and Margot had an opportunity to get in on the dances, too. I think Susana was a bit put out with the long wait in the line up. She will be a lady to recon with when she leave the school years behind.

Our Cool Guy

While the girls were getting ready to dance, our José was keeping track of who was next on the schedule. There was a job for everybody during the festivities. Sitting back and being cool seems to agree with José!

Mothers' Day/Fathers' Day

On Mothers' Day Ron and Vicki "cut a rug" at the church. As you can see we had fun. For some of the Fathers' Day celebrations we visited Colegio San Lucas and watched the kids dance! Here are Katiuska and Marta.

Let´s Sing!

Vicki has finally been asked to participate more fully in the music ministry. Until recently she was only asked sing. That she has done beautifully, even singing some harmony and descant parts. ( I think you would use those terms even though there is no written music.) Today she used both guitar and flute. Eliana has also joined her as a keyboardist. That makes two who actually read music. This morning Vicki led the musicians for the 10:30 service as Nestor accompanied Padre Juan Carlos to Juliaca. Keep the musicians in your prayers. There is great potential there, but rehearsal time is always the first thing cut if a conflict arises. It feels like a spiritual attack.

Padre Ron is hoping that Nestor will bring back an Aymara Bible for the seminary library. One of our parishoners speaks Aymara.
