Food Fest

August 15th is the annual celebration of the founding of Arequipa. This year is the 462 yr. or thereabouts. San Lucas has a day of preparing special dishes. Each class picks out several and learns the recipes. A "picanteria"(typical restaurant) is set up with pictures, costumes, recipe are printed, and explanations and presentation are factored in, too. Judges this year were Maria Andia, Padre Ron, and Hermana Vicki. To our good fortune, there were numerous ties so more kids "won" this year.
